This policy explains what information Gault Law PLLC (“we”) collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers this website only. If you become a client, your engagement letter governs how we handle client information.
What we collect
Information you send us. When you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message, plus anything you choose to add: company, phone number, and topic. If you email us directly, we receive whatever that email contains.
Technical information. Like any website, ours receives your IP address and basic browser details each time you load a page. Our hosting provider uses this to deliver the site and to block abuse, such as repeated automated form submissions.
How we use it
We use contact form and email information to reply to you, to check for conflicts of interest before we discuss your matter, and to keep a record of inquiries. We don’t sell your information, share it for advertising, or use it to build profiles.
Before you become a client
Contacting us does not create an attorney-client relationship, and information you send before one exists may not be privileged. Please don’t include confidential or sensitive details in the contact form. We treat inquiries as confidential and limit access to the people who need them to respond.
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of service providers, each limited to the job we give it:
- Vercel hosts this website and runs the contact form.
- Resend delivers contact form submissions to our inbox by email.
- Google Workspace hosts our email, where inquiries are stored.
These providers are based in the United States and may process information there. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
How long we keep it
We retain personal data for as long as it may be relevant to the purposes above, consistent with any client agreements and legal requirements, which may require holding all communications for a period of at least five years. To dispose of personal data, we may anonymize it, delete it, or take other appropriate steps. Data may persist for an additional period in copies made for backup and business continuity purposes.
How we protect it
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), and our providers use encrypted connections to pass form submissions along to our inbox. Only people at the firm who need inquiries to respond can access them. No system is perfectly secure, which is one more reason not to send confidential details through the form.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the information you’ve sent us. Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the GDPR or California’s CCPA/CPRA may give you additional rights. We’ll respond to any request in line with the law that applies, though we may need to keep some records to meet our professional obligations, such as conflict-check records.
Children
This website is meant for businesses and adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
